Restarting & Winning—My 135lb Weight Loss Journey

💡 The Power of Restarting—Again & Again

I’ve been restarting my weight loss journey since I was 16.

I still remember sitting down with my cousin, writing letters to Oprah, begging for her help. We wanted so badly to lose weight—to feel in control of our bodies, our health, our lives.

I tried every diet. Every pill. Every program.

Nothing worked.

But here’s the thing: I never stopped trying.

Even at 300+ lbs, I ran. I biked. I did TWO mini-triathlons.

I knew that one day I would lose the weight. I just had to keep restarting until I found what worked for me.

🛠️ What Finally Worked: Bariatric Surgery & a Mindset Shift

At my highest weight, I decided to use the tools of bariatric surgery to help me lose weight. I say "tools" because surgery isn’t a quick fix—it’s a tool, just like exercise, nutrition, and mindset.

💡 135 lbs lost. Almost 5 years maintaining it.

And let me tell you—this wasn’t just about the weight.

This journey taught me discipline, resilience, and the power of RESTARTING.

🎉 The Moment I Knew I Had Won

Last year, for my 50th birthday in Panama, I wore a two-piece swimsuit.

Me. The girl who once wrote letters to Oprah. The woman who spent decades restarting.

🔥 I finally won. 🔥

🔄 Why I’m Restarting in ALL Areas of My Life

Losing weight was just one restart.

Now, I’m applying this same energy to my finances, career, and overall well-being.

✔️ Financial health: Restarting my money mindset, building wealth, and making strategic moves.
✔️ Mental & emotional health: Prioritizing my peace, boundaries, and self-care.
✔️ Physical health: Continuing my fitness journey with movement I love.

Because if I can restart my weight loss journey for 30+ years and WIN, I can restart anything. And so can you.

✨ My Advice If You’re Restarting Anything

💡 1. Accept that restarts are part of success – Every journey has pauses, setbacks, and detours. KEEP GOING.
💡 2. Stop looking for quick fixes – Surgery helped me, but it was my habits that made the difference.
💡 3. Visualize your winning moment – Mine was wearing that two-piece in Panama. What’s yours?
💡 4. Get excited about your restart – This is NOT a failure—it’s your next breakthrough.
