Five Years of Love: Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary
February 4th: A Legacy of Love
Five years ago, on February 4, 2020, Erin and I stood before each other and vowed to build a life together—one rooted in love, honesty, laughter, and unwavering commitment. We didn’t just pick any day to marry; we chose this date with intention, with legacy, with love that already stood the test of time.
On this very day in 1947, my grandparents began their own love story. A story that, over decades, showed me what real love looks like—the kind of love that grows deeper with time, that weathers storms, that finds joy in the everyday, and that chooses each other over and over again. Their love wasn’t perfect, but it was real. It was full. It was strong. And that kind of love? It has translated into my marriage in the most profound way.
Erin: My Greatest Love, My Greatest Gift
I didn’t just marry a good person. I married the best person.
Erin, you are the best partner, the best lover, the best caretaker, the best parent, and the best person I have ever known. Every single day, I wake up excited to love you, to see you, to share this life with you.
From the moment we met, there was this knowing—like my soul recognized yours, like every part of me understood that you were my person. And five years later, that feeling hasn’t faded. If anything, it’s grown stronger.
There’s a moment every morning—before the day takes over, before responsibilities pull us in a thousand directions—where I look at you, and I’m reminded:
👉🏽 This is the person I get to love.
👉🏽 This is the life we’ve built.
👉🏽 This is the joy we’ve created.
And every single time, my heart swells with gratitude.
A Love Rooted in Legacy
Erin, your parents raised you with love, integrity, faith, and all the good things that make you who you are. You carry that goodness into everything you do, into how you love, into how you parent, into how you show up in this world. And somehow, in all the magic that is you, I was lucky enough to be chosen as your wife.
We have built something beautiful together—a love that is steady, a love that is intentional, a love that reflects everything I’ve ever wanted in a partnership.
And today, on our fifth wedding anniversary, I just want to say:
💛 Thank you for loving me so completely.
💛 Thank you for making our home and our family a place of joy and safety.
💛 Thank you for being the light, the laughter, and the peace I never knew I needed.
Happy Anniversary, baby. Here’s to at least 55 more years of love, growth, and waking up next to my favorite person in the world.
I love you endlessly. ❤️✨
